X commits to faster review of UK hate content

Ofcom announced that X has pledged to speed up its handling of reported hate and terrorist content in the United Kingdom. The platform will review such material within an average of 24 hours and ban accounts linked to illegal terrorist activity.

The commitments follow concerns over rising hate speech on the platform since its rebranding from Twitter. X said it will assess 85 percent of reported hate content within 48 hours at most and collaborate with UK experts on terror-related issues. Accounts posting illegal terrorist content operated by or for terrorist groups will have access withheld in the country.
