أعلنت هيئة تنظيم الاتصالات البريطانية (Ofcom) أن منصة X تعهدت بتسريع إجراءاتها للتعامل مع محتوى الكراهية والمحتوى الإرهابي المُبلغ عنه في المملكة المتحدة. وستقوم المنصة بمراجعة مثل هذه المواد في غضون 24 ساعة في المتوسط، وحظر الحسابات المرتبطة بأنشطة إرهابية غير قانونية.

تأتي هذه الالتزامات في أعقاب مخاوف بشأن تصاعد خطاب الكراهية على المنصة منذ تغيير علامتها التجارية من تويتر. وقالت منصة X إنها ستقوم بتقييم 85 في المائة من محتوى الكراهية المُبلغ عنه في غضون 48 ساعة كحد أقصى، وستتعاون مع خبراء في المملكة المتحدة بشأن القضايا المتعلقة بالإرهاب. وسيتم حجب الوصول في البلاد للحسابات التي تنشر محتوى إرهابياً غير قانوني وتديرها جماعات إرهابية أو تعمل لصالحها.
