6D introduces ATR-3X off-road helmet with advanced protection

6D has launched the ATR-3X, a new off-road motorcycle helmet featuring a 3K carbon composite shell and Omni-Directional Suspension system. The helmet aims to provide superior protection against a wide range of impacts while enhancing comfort for riders. It exceeds DOT, ECE 22-06, and ACU standards and carries a $995 MSRP.

The ATR-3X builds on recent advances in helmet technology with a lightweight 3K carbon composite shell that lowers the center of gravity. The shell includes cut-outs for the rider’s clavicle and a relief to avoid cervical spine impacts, plus a built-in sternum pad for front protection. In size M/L, the helmet weighs about 1400 grams, aided by titanium D-rings and other weight-saving features, according to 6DHelmets.com details as reported by Adventure Rider on May 5, 2026. 6D’s Omni-Directional Suspension liner protects against heavy direct impacts, torsional forces, and low-force events, an area where many race helmets fall short. The system is rebuildable, a rare feature across helmet price ranges. Comfort features include a ram-air ventilation system with vents directing air to the brow, a stable high-speed visor secured by shear-away screws, removable and washable liner, and emergency-release cheek pads. The helmet ships with 6D MAX goggles for integrated eye protection and dust control. It comes with a three-year limited warranty. 6D positions the ATR-3X as a versatile option for on-road and off-road use, drink tube compatible and certified beyond standard requirements.
