Court admits Hassler's complaint against Desbordes for false accusation

The Seventh Guarantee Court of Santiago declared admissible the criminal complaint filed by former mayor Irací Hassler against Mayor Mario Desbordes. The complaint accuses the mayor of false accusation in the Sierra Bella case.

On Wednesday the court accepted the complaint filed by deputy Hassler, represented by lawyer Miguel Schürmann. Judge Patricio Álvarez ordered the records sent to the Public Ministry for investigation. The action came after the Municipality of Santiago filed a fraud complaint against Hassler last week, although she had already been acquitted in the case. Hassler announced the measure on Monday and said Desbordes seeks to manipulate justice for political ends. The document details that Desbordes took office in December 2024 and has since pursued legal actions against the former mayor, including challenges to a property purchase in January 2023. The municipality has cited an overprice based on a Contraloría inquiry.
