Graveyard Keeper giveaway yields $250K in DLC sales

A free giveaway of Graveyard Keeper on Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation has generated around $250,000 in DLC revenue for publisher tinyBuild, primarily from PC sales. tinyBuild CEO Alex Nichiporchik shared the figures on X, noting console numbers are still pending. The promotion, aimed at building interest in the upcoming sequel, also pushed the follow-up game to 400,000 Steam wishlists.

tinyBuild launched the giveaway last week to revive attention for the 2018 management sim ahead of its sequel. Despite mixed critical reception at launch, the game has built a loyal following through its quirky elements and multiple DLC expansions. Nichiporchik highlighted the strategy's success, stating it works well for titles with substantial DLC content, especially after nearly eight years on the market. The publisher has yet to report console DLC figures, but PC sales alone reached about $250,000 during the event. Graveyard Keeper features three major DLCs: Stranger Sins in 2019, Game of Crone in 2020, and Better Save Soul in 2021. Digital artbooks and soundtracks are also available. A Steam sale encompassing all content continues at the time of reporting. The promotion boosted visibility for Graveyard Keeper 2: Night Shift, developed by Lazy Bear Games, which gained 400,000 wishlists on Steam over the giveaway period. The sequel promises a deeper, more unhinged experience.
