Isac Brännström returns to Luleå Hockey after leaving HV71

Isac Brännström has parted ways with HV71 and will return to Luleå Hockey. The 28-year-old forward is set to reclaim his old jersey number 17.

HV71 announced on Sunday that the club and Brännström are going separate ways after three seasons together. The forward had rejoined the team ahead of the 2023/24 campaign on a three-year deal that will not be extended due to a serious upper-body injury sustained in October against Luleå.

Swedish club Brynäs has shown strong interest in 23-year-old forward Oskar Olausson, according to Expressen. The player, who has struggled for ice time in North America, is being shopped widely on the market. A return to HV71, his former club, is not considered certain.

Luleå Hockey forward Mathias Bromé must decide within two weeks whether to honor his contract through 2028 or accept an overseas offer. The 31-year-old Swede, who joined Luleå after a stint in Örebro, won the SM-guld in his first season there. A contract clause allows him to depart for abroad by May 1.
