On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, the Jakarta Corruption Court became the focus as the Attorney General's Office prosecutors summoned nine witnesses for the hearing on alleged corruption in PT Pertamina's crude oil and refinery product management from 2018-2023.
Five of the witnesses are former Pertamina executives and government officials: Ignasius Jonan (Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources 2016–2019), Arcandra Tahar (Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources 2016–2019), Nicke Widyawati (Pertamina CEO 2018–2024), Basuki Tjahaja Purnama or Ahok (Chairman of the Board of Commissioners 2019–2024), and Luvita Yuni (Senior Manager of Management Reporting at PT Kilang Pertamina International). The other witnesses include Rayendra, Ufo Budianto, Prima Panggabean, and Rusdi Rahmani.
The trial implicates nine defendants, including Muhammad Kerry Andrianto Riza, son of businessman Riza Chalid and owner of PT Navigator Khatulistiwa. Kerry is accused of self-enrichment amounting to Rp3.07 trillion, with state losses of Rp285.18 trillion, according to prosecutor Triyana Setia Putra.
Head of the Attorney General's Legal Information Center, Anang Supriatna, confirmed the summons based on Examination Record Minutes (BAP) from the investigation phase. "Yes, we have already issued summons for five (Pertamina executives) to appear as witnesses, which have been circulating," Anang said.
Director of Prosecution at the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes, Riono Budisantoso, explained the purpose: "These witnesses are asked to explain the general governance at Pertamina during their time, where deviations occurred in its implementation."
The main agenda is the examination of witnesses to support the prosecutors' charges, with their testimonies tested before the panel of judges. The case highlights governance issues at Pertamina, though the witnesses had previously been questioned at the Attorney General's Office.
