Rage: MP to shut down after Take-Two request

Rage: MP, a popular fan-run Grand Theft Auto V multiplayer mod, is shutting down following a request from Take-Two Interactive. The move leaves FiveM as the sole authorized platform for GTA V roleplay on PC.

Administrators for Rage: MP announced the closure on May 25. They stated that Rockstar Games and Take-Two made it clear FiveM is the only authorized platform under the game's Platform License Agreement. The team will begin a structured shutdown at Take-Two's request.

During Take-Two Interactive’s earnings call on May 21, CEO Strauss Zelnick said children who enjoy Roblox will naturally move on to Grand Theft Auto as they mature. He also confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 is still on track for its planned November release.

Strauss Zelnick, chief executive of Take-Two Interactive, stated that creating massive hits like Grand Theft Auto has become increasingly difficult. He spoke during a conference appearance on May 27.
