Isack Hadjar finished third in the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday, securing his second career Formula 1 podium and the first for Red Bull Racing's second driver since April 2024.
The 21-year-old Frenchman recovered from a crash in Friday practice to qualify fifth and hold on for third place despite engine and other issues during the race. Hadjar said he faced more issues than people realized and described qualifying as damage limitation after losing time in practice. Red Bull boss Laurent Mekies praised the team's effort to repair the car quickly and noted Hadjar's ability to reset and deliver a strong performance. The result ends a long period without a podium for anyone other than Max Verstappen at Red Bull. Hadjar has shown consistency in his first season with the team, avoiding the excuses common among previous second drivers.
