In the ongoing Borlänge school threats incident, a teenager previously reported missing was detained Wednesday on suspicion of gross unlawful threat against a group, neutralizing the initial danger. Police confirmed no ongoing threat exists.
Thursday saw all schools reopen except Kunskapsskolan, which received an additional threat email Wednesday evening. Principal Erica Sterkenburg reported it to police, who traced the source and assessed it as non-credible. "Police have traced the threat email. Now I feel completely safe to reopen," Sterkenburg said.
The school remained closed Thursday for safety checks but plans to resume normal operations Friday. Students from other schools, like Miranda Faste at Rytmusgymnasiet, expressed relief at returning to classes. Soltorgsgymnasiet held an assembly before restarting.
