Linda Mwananchi to become political party before year ends

Former LSK president Faith Odhiambo said the Linda Mwananchi movement will be registered as a political party before the end of this year to prepare for the 2027 general elections.

Odhiambo said registration preparations are ongoing although the party may not use the name Linda Mwananchi.

“The party may not use the name Linda Mwananchi but we will launch it this year,” she said in a Monday television interview.

The announcement came during a visit by movement leaders to Taita Taveta County on July 18. Suba South MP Caroli Omondi said ties with ODM had reached their end and urged President William Ruto not to interfere with the registration process.

Senator Edwin Sifuna hinted that he may contest the presidency in 2027.
