Political parties urged to follow laws ahead of 2027 general election

The chairman of the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties has urged political parties to adhere to laws and regulations during the registration certificate handover to the Kenya United Generation party in Nairobi.

John Lorionokou, chairman of the ORPP, said some politicians use political parties for personal gain rather than serving citizens.

He stressed that parties play a vital role in strengthening democracy and that leaders and members must respect the laws and rules of their parties.

Vincent Munywoki, leader of the KUG party, explained that the party's registration will give youth opportunities to participate in politics and drive change.

The party will focus on youth agendas, accountability, and social and economic development.
