Oklahoma babysitter receives second life sentence for murder

Holly Sheppard, 29, was handed a second life sentence this week after pleading guilty to the 2018 murder of a newborn in her care. The ruling adds to an existing term she is serving for a 2023 child abuse case.

Sheppard advertised babysitting services on Facebook in 2018 when a 22-day-old infant was left in her care. The baby suffered non-accidental abusive head trauma and died days later. No charges were filed at the time.
