Three years ago, Jacquemus visited the Nike archives and discovered the silhouette, describing it as "timeless and modern in its simplicity and execution." He saw an opportunity to "write a new story and reinterpret it in our own way."

For the Spring 2026 lineup, the Moon Shoe arrives in Chocolate Brown, Sail, and Soft Pink colorways. The design merges sportswear history with the balletcore trend, featuring an elongated narrow shape akin to a ballet flat, a gathered nylon upper, an elastic heel strap for a snug fit, and a sustainable Nike Grind waffle outsole. Jacquemus highlighted the pale pink edition as rooted in the brand's DNA, calling it a "sensual and naïve color that brings softness and intimacy to the silhouette."
