Valentina Nobre Lima, 11, is in the ICU at Hospital Santa Lúcia after being stung by a scorpion at home in Riacho Fundo I. The accident occurred on Friday, June 12, while she was putting on her shoes for school.
The family reported that Valentina’s condition is critical. They first sought care at Hospital Regional do Guará, where she received anti-scorpion serum, but there was no improvement. She was then transferred to Hospital Santa Lúcia in Asa Norte for ICU treatment.
Claudete, a relative, said: “We are focused on her health and hoping she returns to our arms. We only want prayers for her life”. The family is not conducting fundraising campaigns and asks only for prayers and positive thoughts.
In the first five months of 2026, the Federal District recorded 1,856 scorpion accidents, 232 involving children, according to data from the DF Health Secretariat. Currently, 11 public hospitals provide anti-scorpion serum.
