Los Angeles musician Jillian Medford, performing as Ian Sweet, has revealed her new album Shiverstruck, set for release on July 24 via Polyvinyl. She wrote the record while working as a children’s music teacher and recorded it with producer Ben H. Allen. The lead single, “Criminal Kissing,” accompanies the announcement.
Medford described “Criminal Kissing” in a press statement as “a love letter to making bad decisions. Like hooking up with your ex even though you’ll be left emotionally unraveling and picking up the pieces afterwards. Sometimes you just have to lean into the chaos spiral and see where it leads you.” The album follows her 2023 release Sucker and features tracks including “98702,” “Silver Screen,” “Jilian,” “Deadweight,” and the title song “Shiverstruck.” The full tracklist spans 10 songs, ending with “Speed Demon.”
