MVP has shared details from his Inferno match against Kane at WWE Armageddon 2006, describing it as his only billed co-main event in the company.
The match served as the conclusion to MVP's initial feud with Kane. MVP had previously defeated Kane in a steel cage match by escaping the structure.
MVP discussed the event during a recent episode of his podcast Marking Out. He noted that the Inferno stipulation required a pre-match meeting with a stunt coordinator, Michael P.S. Hayes, Kevin Dunn, Vince McMahon and Stephanie McMahon.
The wrestler described wearing fire-resistant gel that felt unusually cold. Rehearsals occurred behind a curtain to protect the match outcome, and the bout concluded with MVP being set on fire after an additional layer of gel was applied.
MVP credited the experience with teaching him valuable lessons from Kane and recalled receiving congratulations from Vince McMahon upon returning backstage.
