Prosecutor opposes lifting precautionary measures against Jonathan Andic

The Barcelona Prosecutor’s Office has opposed the appeal by Jonathan Andic’s defense against the precautionary measures imposed by the judge in the investigation into the death of his father Isak Andic.

The Prosecutor’s Office argues that messages recovered from Isak Andic’s phone, geolocation data and police reports provide sufficient indications that Jonathan Andic killed his father. Among the cited messages is one from July 2024 in which the son wrote: “No me extraña que pensaras que era capaz hasta de matarte”.

The messages, sent five months before the death of the Mango founder on 14 December 2024, reflect family tensions. Another text states: “Comprendo que era imposible sanear nuestra relación”. The Prosecutor’s Office maintains that these elements contradict the claim of a good relationship between father and son.

Jonathan Andic posted one million euros bail on 19 May and remains subject to passport surrender, a ban on leaving Spain and weekly court appearances. The Prosecutor’s Office argues that the risk of flight persists due to his financial capacity and the severity of possible penalties.
