The Rhode Island School of Design unveiled its Fall 2026 ready-to-wear collections from 12 graduating students. The designs highlighted personal themes through innovative use of everyday and found materials.
Gwen Van Den Eijnde, head of apparel design at RISD, described the student work as eclectic and united by a focus on craft and hand processes. Several collections addressed themes of identity, history, and resistance, including pieces by Azaria Van Der Stok-Smallwood and Paige Sias that incorporated oyster shells, reeds, sugar sacks, and wedding gown scraps.
