George Russell claimed victory in the 2026 Austrian Grand Prix after starting from pole. Max Verstappen and Andrea Kimi Antonelli completed the podium while Sergio Pérez retired on lap seven.
Russell led most of the race at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg. The British Mercedes driver secured his seventh Formula 1 victory and second of the season.
Max Verstappen finished second for Red Bull and Antonelli, Russell's teammate, took third. Mercedes achieved a one-two on the podium.
Sergio Pérez, who started from 19th with Cadillac, retired due to brake overheating along with teammate Valtteri Bottas. Carlos Sainz and Lance Stroll also retired.
In the drivers' championship, Antonelli leads with 171 points followed by Russell with 131. The next race is the British Grand Prix at Silverstone from July 3 to 5.
