Police were alerted late on Friday evening about a suspected shooting in the Sätra district of Gävle. An injured person has been taken to hospital and a large police operation is underway.
Police received multiple calls about loud bangs shortly after 10 p.m. on Friday evening. An injured person was found outdoors in Sätra and taken conscious to hospital. The extent of the injuries remains unknown.
A large operation began with cordons and searches for one or more suspects, including by helicopter. No one has been arrested.
Train traffic to and from Gävle was halted temporarily between 10 p.m. and 11:25 p.m. Passengers were evacuated from two trains and redirected by other means.
