A 51-year-old woman in Brandon, Vermont, has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly stabbing her sister and father at their father's home.
Tamara Stone appeared in court on Monday and pleaded not guilty to two counts of attempted second-degree murder and one count of first-degree aggravated domestic assault. Vermont State Police said the attack occurred around 8:25 a.m. on Thursday at a mobile home on Triangle Court.
Stone allegedly asked her sister to fix a sink leak and stabbed her in the back with a 12-inch kitchen knife when she bent down. She then stabbed her father before fleeing. Both victims suffered serious injuries and were hospitalized.
Police searched for Stone for nearly two days. She returned to the home around 6:05 a.m. on Saturday, called 911, and was arrested. Investigators said Stone referenced her brother's 2025 death, telling her sister, "Brian was first, you and dad are next." She is being held without bail.
