A 17-year-old woman in Kenosha, Wisconsin, faces felony charges after she allegedly struck her 2-year-old daughter and assaulted her boyfriend during a dispute over their relationship.
Emma Spencer is accused of hitting her daughter in the face and pushing her down while the child played with a teddy bear. Prosecutors say the incident occurred after Spencer expressed frustration about sharing her boyfriend with another woman in a three-way relationship that had lasted only three days.
The boyfriend reportedly confronted Spencer on July 7 about the attack on their daughter. According to court documents, she responded that she no longer wanted the child and then punched the boyfriend multiple times in the chest.
Spencer has been charged with felony child abuse, misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct. She remains held at the Kenosha County Jail. In Wisconsin, individuals aged 17 are prosecuted as adults.
