المحكمة تسمح لشركة Nicco Movers Sacco باستئناف عملياتها بانتظار نتيجة الطعن

علقت لجنة استئناف تراخيص النقل قرار إلغاء ترخيص شركة Nicco Movers Sacco، مما يسمح لمشغل حافلات النقل العام (Matatu) باستئناف عملياته أثناء سير إجراءات الطعن.

أصدرت لجنة استئناف تراخيص النقل القرار يوم الأربعاء، حيث أوقفت بموجبه قرار الهيئة الوطنية للنقل والسلامة الوارد في خطاب مؤرخ في 9 يونيو 2026، والذي قضى بإلغاء ترخيص تشغيل مركبات الخدمة العامة التابع للشركة.

ووجهت اللجنة شركة Nicco Movers Sacco بتقديم خطة مفصلة للامتثال لمعايير السلامة في غضون سبعة أيام قبل استئناف تشغيل أسطولها. ومن المقرر أن تعود القضية إلى اللجنة في 2 يوليو 2026 لتحديد المسار الإجرائي للطعن الكامل.

جاء قرار الإلغاء في أعقاب وفاة يوجين موتوكو البالغ من العمر 19 عاماً، والذي دُفع من حافلة متحركة تابعة لشركة Nicco Movers على طول طريق Thika في 4 يونيو 2026 بسبب خلاف حول أجرة بقيمة 20 شلناً كينياً. وقد مثل الشركة المحامي دانستان أوماري، بينما مثلت الهيئة الوطنية للنقل والسلامة المستشارة ماري كيهامبا.
