حذر وزير التعليم، جوليوس ميغوس أوغامبا، من رسالة انتشرت عبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي واصفاً إياها بالمزيفة، حيث تدعي توضيح أسباب تأخير صرف مستحقات المهنيين المتعاقدين لاختبارات عام 2025 الوطنية. وقد دعا الجمهور إلى تجاهلها تماماً، يأتي هذا البيان في ظل حالة من الإحباط بين آلاف المعلمين الذين لم يتلقوا أجورهم ويهددون بالإضراب.

أصدر وزير التعليم، جوليوس ميغوس أوغامبا، تحذيراً عاماً في 23 أبريل 2026، نفى فيه صحة الرسالة المتداولة مؤكداً أنها لم تصدر عن مكتبه. وقال أوغامبا: "الوثيقة المتداولة حالياً مزيفة. وأدعو الجمهور إلى التعامل معها بالازدراء الذي تستحقه". وجاء في الرسالة، التي حملت ترويسة وزارة التعليم واسم أوغامبا، ادعاءً بعدم تخصيص أموال في الموازنة التكميلية للمشرفين والمراقبين والأفراد الأمنيين ومصححي الامتحانات، وزعمت أن الدفع سيتم في السنة المالية القادمة التي تبدأ في 1 يوليو 2026، بعد التنسيق مع وزارة الخزانة. ويأتي هذا في أعقاب إشعار مزيف مماثل حذر منه المجلس الوطني الكيني للامتحانات (KNEC)، حيث ادعى بشكل خاطئ تلقي الأموال وتأخر الدفع بسبب نقص في بيانات الموظفين. وقد أعرب آلاف المعلمين، عبر الاتحاد الوطني الكيني للمعلمين (KNUT)، عن إحباطهم من عدم تلقي أجور تصحيح امتحانات عام 2025، وهددوا بالإضراب ومقاطعة امتحانات عام 2026.
