Digital Bros acquires Wuchang: Fallen Feathers IP rights

Italian publisher Digital Bros has bought full intellectual property rights to the Soulslike game Wuchang: Fallen Feathers for about €4 million. The acquisition follows the shutdown of developer Chengdu Lingzee. Digital Bros now holds all revenue and future decision-making power for the title.

Digital Bros announced the deal in a press release, stating that securing the IP 'will enhance the Group's ability to make timely decisions regarding its future development and related investments.' The transaction, valued at RMB 32 million and funded through available credit lines, grants full ownership and eliminates future royalty obligations to the original developer. The company partnered with Chengdu Lingzee via 505 Games for the game's global release. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers launched in July 2025 and performed strongly, reaching over 130,000 concurrent players on Steam and selling more than 1 million copies to generate €30 million. Digital Bros described these figures as confirming 'the strength of the product and its long-term potential.' Chengdu Lingzee closed in the months after launch, reportedly due to key senior staff departures and the remaining team's refusal to pivot into a support studio role. Digital Bros has a track record of acquiring other titles, including Ghostrunner, Ghostrunner 2, the Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons remake, and Indivisible. The publisher noted it does not expect the acquisition to significantly affect its current fiscal year business outlook.
