Digital Brosが「Wuchang: Fallen Feathers」の知的財産権を取得

イタリアのパブリッシャーであるDigital Brosは、ソウルライクゲーム「Wuchang: Fallen Feathers」の知的財産権を約400万ユーロで完全取得しました。この買収は、開発元であるChengdu Lingzeeの閉鎖を受けたものです。これにより、Digital Brosは同タイトルの全収益および今後の意思決定権を保有することになります。

Digital Brosはプレスリリースの中で、今回のIP取得について「グループの将来的な開発や関連投資に関する意思決定を迅速化できる」と説明しています。取引額は3200万人民元で、手元の与信枠を活用して支払われました。この取引により、同社は完全な所有権を得るとともに、開発元に対する将来的なロイヤリティ支払い義務を解消しました。同社は505 Gamesを通じて、Chengdu Lingzeeと共同で同タイトルの世界展開を行っていました。「Wuchang: Fallen Feathers」は2025年7月に発売され、Steamでの同時接続プレイヤー数が13万人を超え、100万本以上を販売して3000万ユーロの売上を記録するなど、好調な推移を見せました。Digital Brosはこれらの数字について「製品の強さと長期的な可能性を裏付けるもの」と評価しています。Chengdu Lingzeeは発売から数か月後に閉鎖されましたが、これは主要な上級スタッフの離職や、残ったチームがサポートスタジオへの転換を拒否したことが原因と報じられています。Digital Brosは過去にも「Ghostrunner」や「Ghostrunner 2」、「Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons」のリメイク版、「Indivisible」などのタイトルを買収した実績があります。なお、同社は今回の買収が現在の会計年度の業績見通しに大きな影響を与えることはないと述べています。
