اعتقلت هيئة الأخلاقيات ومكافحة الفساد في مقاطعة كيسي ضابطي شرطة رفيعي المستوى بتهمة طلب رشوة قدرها 100 ألف شيلينغ كيني تتعلق بقضية نزاع على أرض.

تم القبض على الضابطين، وهما رئيس التحقيقات الجنائية بالمنطقة ومفتش أول تابع لمركز شرطة نيانشوا بفرع كيتوتو المركزي، يوم الجمعة الموافق 28 مايو، وذلك بعد تلقيهما مبلغ 40 ألف شيلينغ في عملية ضبط ميدانية موجهة. ووفقاً لهيئة مكافحة الفساد، فقد طلب الضابطان المال من أحد المشتكين مقابل تسهيل القبض على شخص متهم بالاستيلاء غير القانوني على أرض في حي نيانشوا وتشييد مبانٍ عليها. وتم اقتياد المشتبه بهما إلى المكتب الإقليمي للهيئة في كيسي، حيث تم استكمال الإجراءات القانونية والإفراج عنهما بكفالة نقدية قدرها 50 ألف شيلينغ لكل منهما لحين استكمال التحقيقات. وتأتي هذه الاعتقالات ضمن جهود الهيئة الرامية إلى مكافحة الفساد في المؤسسات العامة، بما في ذلك أجهزة الشرطة ومقدمو الخدمات الآخرون.
