France set for fourth heatwave next week

A new intense heatwave will affect three-quarters of the country from Tuesday 28 July, with maximum temperatures sometimes close to 40°C.

According to forecasts from La Chaîne Météo, an atmospheric configuration favorable to strong heat will set in on Tuesday 28 July. The succession of four heatwaves in two months is totally unprecedented since the start of reliable weather records in 1945.

Weather models indicate a marked heatwave risk over a large part of the territory. This will be the fourth heatwave of the year.

A weekend marked by storms will precede this new wave of high temperatures.
