Fuvest 2026 releases expected answers for first day of second phase

Fuvest published on Sunday (14) the expected answers for the discursive questions of the first day of the 2026 vestibular second phase, along with guidelines for redaction correction. The redaction theme was 'Forgiveness is an act that can be conditioned or limited', with options for argumentative dissertation or letter. In total, 30,787 candidates participated in the exams held in 22 São Paulo cities.

The second phase of the Fuvest 2026 vestibular began on Sunday (14) with 30,787 qualified candidates taking ten discursive questions on Portuguese language, literature, and grammar, plus the redaction. The exams were held in 680 rooms across 36 schools in 22 cities in the capital, metropolitan region, interior, and coastal areas of São Paulo, with an abstention rate of 5.94%. Gates opened at noon and closed at 1 p.m., with four hours to complete.

The redaction theme was 'Forgiveness is an act that can be conditioned or limited' and offered two proposals based on the same anthology of texts: argumentative dissertation, in the traditional format, to discuss whether forgiveness can be conditioned or limited from concrete or conceptual situations; and letter, addressed to a fictional person who unjustly accused the candidate of morally condemnable behavior, exposing reasons to grant or deny forgiveness, mobilizing narrative, argumentative, and formal elements of the genre.

The anthology included the article 'Plea from Nazi officer prompts reflection on limits of forgiveness' by Juliana de Albuquerque, published in Folha; excerpt from 'Tudo é Rio' by Carla Madeira; the poem 'Mar Novo' by Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen; the photograph 'Ceasefire in Gaza allows return home' by Abdel Kareem Hana/AP; the song 'Tá Perdoado' by Arlindo Cruz; and an excerpt from the book 'Iaiá Garcia' by Machado de Assis. The set encouraged individual and collective reflections on social, political, and moral dimensions of forgiveness.

Fuvest released the expected answers, which indicate ideal performance based on the high school curriculum and serve as a reference for correction, subject to adjustments by the board. For Portuguese, literature, and grammar questions, full compliance with prompts is required, along with conceptual mastery, analytical capacity, and idea articulation. The redaction and questions are worth 50 points each on the first day. On Monday (15), candidates will face 12 discursive questions on specific disciplines by course area, such as mathematics, physics, and chemistry for exact sciences; chemistry and biology for biological sciences; and history and geography for humanities.
