Kakao union workers to hold Log-out Day as second collective action

Kakao unionized workers will take mass annual leave on Monday for a Log-out Day protest. It marks their second collective action amid stalled wage talks.

Kakao labor union members plan to take simultaneous annual leave on Monday across five units, including headquarters, Kakao Pay and Kakao Enterprise.

The union demands 13 to 14 percent of operating profit as performance bonuses. Management rejected the demand, saying it places too much burden on the company. Talks have stalled since May.

On June 10, 1,500 members staged their first action with a four-hour walkout and rally near the Pangyo headquarters.

Management said it will continue negotiations while remaining on standby to maintain stable operations for services such as KakaoTalk.
