Entering the final year of his contract, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen voiced urgency for a Super Bowl win on The Football Frame of Mind podcast, building on his recent scheme critiques. He reflected on year seven ticking amid past trade buzz, while expressing confidence in growth under new defensive coordinator Patrick Graham.
In the latest episode of The Football Frame of Mind podcast—following his comments on the challenges of Pittsburgh's prior defensive scheme—Patrick Queen shared his deep desire for a Super Bowl triumph. 'Being able to hold that Super Bowl trophy... that’s a feeling that nobody going to be able to beat. I want to be able to feel that,' he said. Noting his seven NFL seasons, Queen added, 'It’s time’s ticking. But I know I’m still just going to be getting better.'
Queen signed with the Steelers in 2024 after four years with the Ravens, but his first two seasons were inconsistent: wearing the green dot in a new scheme, he showed flashes in 2025 but led the team in missed tackles amid scheme adjustments and injuries. As 2026 approaches, new DC Patrick Graham brings a system Queen previously called tough to play against.
Earlier offseason trade talks, including with the Dallas Cowboys, surfaced but ended with Pittsburgh retaining Queen over mid-round picks or younger players like Payton Wilson and Cole Holcomb.
