مسؤولون في الأمم المتحدة يحثون روسيا على الإفراج عن ناشطتين من السكان الأصليين

دعا عشرة مسؤولين في الأمم المتحدة روسيا إلى الإفراج الفوري عن داريا إيجيريفا وناتاليا ليونغاردت، اللتين لا تزالان رهن الاحتجاز بتهم تتعلق بالإرهاب بعد ستة أشهر من اعتقالهما. ومن المقرر أن تمثلا أمام جلسة محكمة رئيسية في موسكو يوم الخميس.

اعتُقلت إيجيريفا، وهي امرأة من السكان الأصليين من عرقية سيلكوب والرئيسة المشاركة للمنتدى الدولي للشعوب الأصلية المعني بتغير المناخ، مع ليونغاردت في 17 ديسمبر بعد عودتهما من مؤتمر المناخ COP30. وتتهمهما السلطات الروسية بوجود صلات لهما بـ "منتدى الشعوب الأصلية"، وهي شبكة للسكان الأصليين أُغلقت قبل عامين. وتطالب رسالة الأمم المتحدة، التي أُرسلت في أبريل ونُشرت الأسبوع الماضي، بإسقاط التهم الموجهة إليهما، مؤكدة أن الاعتقالات تبدو وكأنها انتقام لعملهما مع الأمم المتحدة، ومحذرة من تأثير ذلك على مشاركة السكان الأصليين في المحافل الدولية. وتواجه إيجيريفا وليونغاردت عقوبة قد تصل إلى السجن 20 عاماً. كما طالبت أكثر من 100 منظمة بالإفراج عنهما. وقد حُرمت إيجيريفا من التواصل المنتظم مع عائلتها منذ اعتقالها. هذا وقرر المنتدى الدولي للشعوب الأصلية المعني بتغير المناخ تمديد فترة ولاية إيجيريفا كرئيسة مشاركة هذا الأسبوع تعبيراً عن التضامن معها. ولم يرد المسؤولون الروس على مناشدة الأمم المتحدة.
