Virginia Woolf's Night and Day world premieres at SXSW London

The world premiere of Virginia Woolf's Night and Day opened the film strand at SXSW London on June 1. The period rom-com screened at the Barbican Centre with cast and crew in attendance.

Directed by Tina Ghavari, the film stars Haley Bennett as astronomer Katharine, Jack Whitehall as William, Lily Allen as suffragette Mary and Timothy Spall as the controlling father. Set in 1910 and adapted from Woolf's novel, the story follows Katharine's efforts to pursue science and join the suffragette movement instead of marrying as her father wishes. Producer and writer Justine Waddell attended alongside the stars and director.
