In the seventh hearing of the Loan Peña disappearance trial, Macarena Peña and Catalina testified that a lawyer pressured them to invent an accident version.
During the July 2, 2026 hearing before the Tribunal Oral Federal de Corrientes, Macarena Peña stated that lawyer José Codazzi handed 50,000 pesos to her mother Laudelina and threatened detentions to sustain the accident version.
Camila Núñez, Loan's cousin, described pressure from individuals posing as fake experts who demanded names to incriminate someone in exchange for money.
Catalina, the child's grandmother, said three men tried to convince Laudelina to maintain the accident hypothesis, which she considers false, and indicated that Antonio Benítez took the boy to a tapera.
The trial continues with resumption scheduled for the following Tuesday.
