Public Service Cabinet Secretary Geoffrey Ruku has directed all government ministries, departments and agencies to ensure citizen-facing services are available at the country's 59 Huduma Centres.
The order was issued on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, during an event at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre to mark Africa Public Service Day. Ruku said the directive came from President William Ruto to improve service delivery.
“We have directed all ministries, departments and agencies which have citizen-facing services, all those services must be made available in Huduma Centres,” he stated.
Huduma Kenya currently offers 165 services from 51 ministries, departments and agencies as well as 35 county governments. Only 11 national government agencies have so far deployed services in all centres nationwide.
Agencies will work with the Huduma Kenya Secretariat on deployment. Those with enough staff will station officers at the centres, while others will have Huduma personnel trained to provide the services instead. The ministry said the changes will reduce operational costs and improve efficiency.
