Vice Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives Saan Mustopa said the Free Nutritious Meals program could save up to Rp70 trillion in budget after a review by the National Nutrition Agency.
Saan Mustopa made the statement after an audience with students outside the DPR RI building on Friday, June 19, 2026. He explained that the savings resulted from direct communication between Sufmi Dasco Ahmad and National Nutrition Agency head Nanik.
According to Saan, the National Nutrition Agency reviewed MBG programs deemed inefficient. The outcome indicated potential budget reductions of around Rp70 trillion.
In addition to the MBG issue, students raised concerns about rising prices of Pertamax fuel. Dasco then contacted Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia to follow up on those aspirations.
