Former W Series driver and Sky Sports Formula 1 analyst Naomi Schiff has warned that planned engine regulation changes for the 2027 season could impose major financial burdens on smaller teams and manufacturers.
The FIA confirmed adjustments to engine hardware after concerns arose with the 2026 regulations. These changes aim to make driving more intuitive by increasing internal combustion engine power by 50 kW while reducing electric power by the same amount, shifting the power split from nearly 50:50 to closer to 60:40.
