St Austell Brewery launches 175th anniversary cask ale range

St Austell Brewery is marking its 175th anniversary with a limited edition cask ale range in 2026, reviving historic recipes from its archives. The collection includes classics like Admiral's Ale and Trelawny, alongside a new beer named 1851. These ales will be available in the brewery's pubs and through wholesale customers.

St Austell Brewery, based in Cornwall, is celebrating 175 years since its founding with a special limited edition cask ale range set for release in 2026. The collection draws on recipes from brewing books dating back to the 1800s, paying tribute to well-loved beers from the company's history. It features reimagined versions of past and current favorites, including a new anniversary ale called 1851.

Among the revived classics is Admiral's Ale, a five per cent ABV beer first brewed in 2005 to commemorate the bicentenary of Nelson's victory at Trafalgar. Another is Trelawny, a 3.8 per cent ABV best bitter named after Bishop Trelawny from Cornish folklore, remembered fondly by beer enthusiasts for its burnished copper color. The lineup also includes Tribute Extra, a 5.3 per cent ABV pale ale brewed with Cornish barley and Celeia and Willamette hops, described as bold, complex, and full of character.

The eight-strong cask range forms part of broader 175-year celebrations, which encompass commemorative events, special collaborations, and a focus on the brewery's heritage pubs and regional roots. The first beer in the range, Cornish Ale Trelawny, will be available from March 30.

Georgina Young, Brewing Director at St Austell Brewery, said: “Reaching 175 years is an extraordinary milestone, so it felt only right to celebrate by bringing some of our most cherished beers back to life. Our brewing archives are full of wonderful recipes—beers that meant something to the people who brewed them and to the communities that enjoyed them.” She added: “Revisiting classics, such as Trelawny and Tinners, is a reminder of just how deeply our heritage runs, while giving us the chance to brew the beers with the quality and consistency made possible by modern techniques. As a team, we’re incredibly proud to honour our past while continuing to innovate for the beer drinkers of today.”

The ales will be available in St Austell Brewery pubs and for order by wholesale customers.
