Indsatte spiser silikonebånd for at tale med naboer i cellen

Kriminalforsorgen i Sverige advarer om stigende uautoriseret kommunikation mellem indsatte i varetægtsfængsler. Antallet af indberetninger er mere end fordoblet på fem år, og de indsatte benytter nye metoder, såsom at bide tætningslister af.

I nybyggede modulbyggerier som varetægtsfængslet Hinseberg uden for Örebro er det nok at hæve stemmen for at blive hørt gennem væggene. Lignende problemer eksisterer i Nyköping, Ystad og Göteborg. Adrian Russo, der er leder af kriminalforsorgen på Hinseberg, kalder det et konkret problem.

Christoffer Sunesson, enhedschef hos Kriminalforsorgen, fortæller, at de indsatte bider sorte silikonelister af, der minder om lakridsbånd. De sprækker, der opstår, gør det muligt for dem at tale med naboer i cellen uden at personalet opdager det.

Antallet af indberetninger om uautoriseret kommunikation steg fra 779 i 2022 til 1632 sidste år. Næsten 6000 sådanne indberetninger er blevet indsendt over en femårig periode. Metoder som at bruge toiletrør har eksisteret længe, men suppleres nu af nye tricks.
