Folketingets Ombudsmand har afgjort, at børnehaver og fritidshjem må holde lukket til planlægning eller uddannelse maksimalt fire gange om året.

Afgørelsen stammer fra en klage mod Kungsör kommune. Kommunen havde planlagt at lukke driften i seks dage i løbet af skoleåret 2025/2026. Overombudsmand Erik Nymansson understregede, at folkeskoleloven kræver, at børnehave- og fritidstilbud skal tilbydes i det nødvendige omfang under hensyntagen til blandt andet forældres beskæftigelse. JO bemærkede, at behovet for planlægning er forståeligt, men at lukninger ikke må forekomme i et for stort omfang.
