Kai Wegner afsløret i løgn om telefonopkald under strømafbrydelse

Senatskancelliet bekræftede den 7. juli 2026, at Berlins regerende borgmester Kai Wegner ikke foretog nogen officielle telefonopkald før kl. 12:45 den 3. januar. Dette modsiger hans tidligere udtalelser i et interview.

Et brandattentat den 3. januar afbrød strømforsyningen til op mod 45.000 husstande i Steglitz-Zehlendorf i fire dage. Wegner havde i et interview med Welt TV den 7. januar udtalt, at han begyndte at foretage telefonopkald kl. 08:08.

Senatskancelliet oplyser nu, at ingen opkald fandt sted før kl. 12:45. Kommunikationen foregik i stedet via sms. Det første opkald kl. 12:45 var til økonomisenator Franziska Giffey.

SPD-leder Steffen Krach kræver konsekvenser og udtaler, at Wegner har skadet embedet alvorligt. De Grønne og FDP har også rettet en skarp kritik mod udtalelserne og taler om et tab af tillid.
