Northwest command ready to repel any attack, says general

Deputy Chief of Staff General Abebaw Tadesse said the Northwest Command is prepared to counter attacks from historical enemies or bandits.

General Abebaw Tadesse made the remarks while visiting the command's operational area. He noted that the command has been fulfilling its defense duties with heroism.

The command played a major role in countering TPLF invasions and took strong action against the extremist domestic group attempting to create unrest in the Amhara region, he said. He urged troops to uphold their fathers' heroic legacy to protect Ethiopia for future generations.

Northwest Command chief Lieutenant General Berhanu Bekele said the command has completed overlapping missions with determination. Its readiness for future tasks is higher than ever before, he added.
