Earlier, on March 3, 2026, NYS announced 250 cadet officer positions and 500 private posts, totalling over 700 vacancies. Private roles include drivers, plant operators, electricians, carpenters, plumbers, band members, agricultural workers, secretaries, vehicle mechanics, welders, and general duty personnel. Prior applications were accepted via the Public Service Commission form until March 18, 2026.
