Olaf Lies opfordrer til gasudvinding i Nordsøen

Niedersachsens ministerpræsident Olaf Lies har talt for gasudvinding i Nordsøen. Høje gaspriser gør reserverne attraktive for at styrke forsyningssikkerheden. Fordelene er dog begrænsede.

Gaspriserne er steget markant på verdensplan. I Tyskland rettes opmærksomheden nu igen mod reserverne i Nordsøen. Olaf Lies (SPD) sagde til Handelsblatt: "Vi har stadig brug for gas, og vi skal hurtigst muligt sikre, at den er pålideligt tilgængelig. Udvinding i Nordsøen er en byggesten i denne sammenhæng."

Niedersachsen spiller en central rolle i gasproduktionen. Delstaten råder over den største del af Tysklands gasreserver. Den statslige myndighed for minedrift, energi og geologi håndterer tilladelser og tilsyn for den tyske del af Nordsøen.

"Vi har brug for en diversificeret energiforsyning – fra indenlandsk produktion, LNG-terminaler og pålidelige partnere som Norge og Holland," udtalte Lies. "Kun på denne måde kan vi sikre forsyningssikkerhed og prisstabilitet med gas som en bro til klimavenlig energi."

Markedsrisici giver debatten vægt. Efter det amerikanske og israelske angreb på Iran og blokaden af Hormuz-strædet er gas- og oliepriserne steget kraftigt. Nordsøgas kunne sikre forsyningerne, selvom potentialet er relevant, men ikke enormt. Virksomhederne står klar.
