Union dæmper forventningerne til støttetiltag mod brændstofpriser

Sepp Müller (CDU), næstformand for CDU/CSU-parlamentsgruppen i Forbundsdagen, udtalte, at staten ikke fuldt ud kan subsidiere høje brændstofpriser. "Vi må fortælle folk sandheden: Staten kan ikke bare subsidiere dette prischok væk," sagde han til RedaktionsNetzwerk Deutschland (RND). Han tilskrev situationen den eskalerende tilstand ved Hormuz-strædet og advarede mod, at ny gæld belaster fremtidige generationer, idet han nævnte Italiens gældspolitik som et eksempel.

Müller leder en koalitionsarbejdsgruppe om brændstofpriser sammen med SPD-politikeren Armand Zorn. Gruppen prioriterer "målrettet hjælp frem for dyre generelle tiltag," understregede han over for RND. Markederne forventer mindst et år med vedvarende høje priser.

I kontrast hertil kræver CDU-statsministre fra det østlige Tyskland – Mario Voigt (Thüringen), Sven Schulze (Sachsen-Anhalt) og Michael Kretschmer (Sachsen) – en øjeblikkelig suspendering af CO₂-afgiften. Voigt fortalte Bild, at det kunne sænke brændstofpriserne med op til 16 cent pr. liter. Schulze tilføjede over for Bild, at afgiften skal suspenderes, og at priserne skal overvåges af kartelmyndighederne. Kretschmer kaldte afgiften en "yderligere byrde for samfundets midte."

Plejeorganisationer advarede om, at høje benzinpriser truer patientplejen i landdistrikterne. Sarah Lukuc fra Bundesverband für Pflegemanagement advarede om begrænsninger i tjenesteydelser i landdistrikterne. Markus Mai, leder af Deutscher Pflegeverband, efterlyste statsligt fastsatte maksimumpriser for at forhindre, at udbydere går konkurs.
