Robe town in Oromia region has completed the first phase of its 12-kilometer corridor development project. Mayor Dino Amin said the work is giving the town a new look to better host visitors. Construction on the second phase covering more than three kilometers is now underway.
The corridor features bicycle and pedestrian paths, street lights, and green spaces. Telecommunications, water, and electricity services are integrated into the system.
Residents said the project has changed work culture in the town and enabled institutions to operate at night. They also noted strong community involvement in the effort.
The mayor added that beyond modernizing the town, the development has improved living conditions for local people.
