Uppsala når historisk lavpunkt for modtagere af økonomisk bistand

Andelen af voksne i Uppsala, der modtager økonomisk bistand, faldt til 1,03 procent i maj, hvilket er det laveste niveau, siden målingerne begyndte i 2014.

I maj modtog 2.583 voksne i Uppsala kommune økonomisk bistand. Det er 875 færre end ved indgangen til 2023, hvor tallet lå på 3.458 personer eller 1,41 procent.

Niveauet ligger nu lige under landsgennemsnittet på 1,04 procent. Kommunen arbejder mod et mål om, at højst én procent af de voksne indbyggere skal have brug for bistand.

Erik Pelling (S), formand for kommunalbestyrelsen, bemærkede, at hvert tal repræsenterer en person, der er kommet i arbejde eller uddannelse. Pavlos Cavelier Bizas (S), formand for arbejdsmarkedsudvalget, kaldte udviklingen en vigtig milepæl.

Fra 1. juli træder en ny lov i kraft, der stiller krav om, at personer på økonomisk bistand skal deltage i fuldtidsaktiviteter.
