Der schwedische Verteidiger Anton Johansson überzeugt in den AHL-Playoffs bei den Grand Rapids Griffins. Sein Trainer Dan Watson ist davon überzeugt, dass der 21-Jährige kurz vor dem Sprung in die NHL steht.

Johansson verließ Leksand nach einer Saison, die mit dem Abstieg in die Hockeyallsvenskan endete. Dort erzielte er 17 Punkte in 47 Spielen, bevor er nach Nordamerika wechselte. In Grand Rapids kam er in acht Spielen der regulären Saison auf sechs Punkte und erhielt in den Calder-Cup-Playoffs gegen die Chicago Wolves eine beträchtliche Eiszeit.
