Der norwegische Rechtsaußen absolvierte in dieser Saison 14 NHL-Spiele für Detroit, ohne einen Scorerpunkt zu erzielen. In der AHL verbuchte er 44 Punkte in 60 Spielen für Grand Rapids. Zuvor spielte Brandsegg-Nygård für Skellefteå und Mora in Schweden.
